Zachary Baby Blessing

We had a wonderful baby blessing on Sunday. Unfortunately I couldn't find my camera and I didn't get any pictures at the luncheon. I later found it and took these pictures. My mother-in-law made his blessing outfit and it was beautiful! Thank you for making it. And thanks to everyone who came, we feel very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.

MOM

She is seriously so beautiful!

I might almost be 30, (ouch) but I was thinking last night how much I love how my mom still calls me "baby". She doesn't say it as if I'm acting like one, but that I am still her baby and always will be, even though I have my own babies.

As I was looking for a picture of my mom, (love the glasses) I came across this one, yup, that's my blankey that got thrown away, due to the sucking of my fingers, which is also illustrated in this photo.

So sad...

Have you ever seen anything so sad? Seriously, do your kids blankets look like ours? I think they have seen their day, however I will not throw them out until my kids say it is okay. I am taking that from childhood experience when my own blanket was thrown away as an attempt for me to stop sucking my fingers. And you know what, it didn't work, and I still hold that over my sweet dad's head, for throwing away my blankey!
(By the way, I did eventually stop sucking my fingers, I don't want you to wonder if I still might do that.)

Jonathan

For my more official 1st posting I thought I would write about my family. The first person in my family that I am going to write about is my brother Jonathan. We lost Jonathan 17 years ago today (or officially tomorrow). I can't believe it has been that long. I was only 12 when he died. Jonathan was an amazing person. He cared so much for others and was a great big brother. He would always let me tag along with him and his friends, even though I was an annoying little sister. I wish so much that he were here with us today. I wish that our families could hang out together, as we do with my sister and other brother. But life took us a different direction, and I do have peace in that. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have, to know that I will be with him again, and that one day our families will be able to be together. Jonathan has been a great example to me, and I hope that his example will be carried on to my children and that they will also look up to their uncle Jonathan. Love you!

It's about time!

You may think this is true. Some of my dearest friends have been trying to get me to blog for a while now and I always find a reason not to, until now. I have, finally, given in. I am, however, a bit intimidated of blogging. As I read my friends and families blogs I am not sure how I can write or entertain as they do. I will write, and post pictures, and if nothing else, I know my mom will enjoy. Thanks mom!
